Straight Talk

I read an interesting piece on the net today in which Australian economist Steve Keen answers questions about the economy. I have been reading Steve Keen's blog on and off for some time now; however I wish I could say I read it more "on" than "off." I need to spend more time there.
Steve Keen is Associate Professor of Economics & Finance at the University of Western Sydney, and author of the popular book Debunking Economics.
Professor Keen was asked multiple questions on different issues, all of which are interesting, but I bring you only question #1 today because the answers are rather long. Professor Keen nails how today's economists seem to ALWAYS get their projections wrong: they ignore debt and the aggregate changes in debt. When did you hear EZ-Al Greenspan or Benron Bernanke warn against taking on too much debt and what the consequences would be when the debt became too much to service? Right - never!
