Slow Week?

by Larry Levin

The market traded fairly well the last two trading days, Thursday and Friday, but was still slow overall. Luckily, however, the market held small trends both days.

This coming week will be short; the market trades just a ?-day Thursday and will be closed Friday for Christmas. Strangely enough this week is full of economic news but none will be announced Monday.

On Tuesday we will get the latest data on the GDP and existing home sales. Wednesday will be consumer sentiment and new home sales. Even Thursday's half-day will have news: durable goods orders and weekly jobless claims.

So since it should be a slow Christmas-trade all week anyway, Monday may be the slowest with no news.
