by Larry LevinNo brokerage, bank, or mortgage lender is safe! All of them have the same story. They all have bad loans on the books and don't be the least bit surprised to see more to come. No one is immune.
But here's the thing: the market and investors are starting (a little bit) to get used to it. We sold off again on Monday afternoon, but the market spent a good part of the day moving higher, even with E-Trade trading 60% lower on the day.
That's what I mean, the more similar bad news we get, the more investors get accustomed to it. And that's what I believe is starting to happen now. Bargain hunters will start coming in this week looking to buy the bottom. We will see if it really is the bottom.
